Roaches and how to get rid of them

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:21 pm

Cockroaches are super bugs. They can cover 50 times their body length in one second. That is like a human being running 180 miles per hour. German cockroaches will consume just about anything from crumbs to cardboard to droppings of other roaches and if there is a serious food shortage, they will eat each other, so they prefer to stay close to a food and water source. They can go for long periods of time without food and if separated from its head, the roach body can go on living for several weeks until it finally dies of dehydration.

They have followed people wherever they have gone and now the urban jungle is their natural habitat. If they just stayed in the sewers, that would almost be tolerable, but their nature keeps them exploring new territories. In all honesty, not even the cleanest house is safe from roaches.

In the US, the German cockroach is the most common roach found in homes and hotels. German cockroaches and their eggs, are brought in, usually on man’s belongings, luggage, boxes or packages. All it takes, is bringing in one egg capsule, and you can go from one to infinity in just a couple of weeks.

There is an urban legend that they will be the only thing to survive a nuclear war, and that they can survive being cooked in a microwave oven. Actually they are no better than other insects, most of which are about 15 times more resistant to radiation than humans. Still, they make great test subjects for insecticides, because if a product can kill a roach, it can take out anything on 6 legs, and nobody cares what happens to the test roaches.

So, how do we kill roaches in the house? We use the same thing that professionals will charge you a fortune to apply. Avert Cockroach Gel Bait is the cheapest and easiest product on the market.

Many times roaches are not the only problem in the home. To get rid of fleas the only way to go is with Insect Growth Regulators that also work on the juvenile stages of the roach. A combination of IGR’s and Avert will solve the roach problem in your home for months at a time.

ECUADOR - one country with four absolute different geographic regions

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:25 am

The three main geographic regions on the mainland are:

  • The coast also called “La Costa” on the Pacific Ocean
  • The highlands also called “La Sierra” which means the mountain range of the Andes running from North to South through the whole state
  • and the Amazon rainforest also designated “El Oriente”.

The Galapagos Islands - the fourth region is an insular region in the Pacific Ocean.

All this makes Ecuador to one of the most multifaceted countries in the world. Ecuador is besides Chile the only country in South America that has no border to Brazil. In the north you find Columbia, in the east and south Peru and in the west there is the Pacific Ocean. The name Ecuador emanatesfrom fact that the country is located at the equator. This explains also the small variation in daylight hours over the year.

We discovered a part of the Andes doing some trekking. Main intnetion was to climb the volcano called “Vulkan Cotopaxi”. Cotopaxi is 5.897 m high and is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world and the second highest mountain in Ecuador. Because it is so high it is necessary to acclimate before climbing this mountain. So we did some other ascents before to volcanoes like “Rucu Pichincha” near to the capital Quito and the “lliniza Norte”.

These trips were only amazing, just imagine standing there over 5.000 m on the top of a mountain after walking from midnight to the sunrise through the darkness and then all of a sudden the sun rises it gets bright and you are looking to the valley above seeing the sun rising above the clouds and there is nothing else just the glacier that twinkles in the sunlight and the sun shines so bright that you nearly cannot see - only the blue sky behind… you cannot describe it you have to experience it - it is amazing…

My conclusion for this trip is that it was just perfect for Anden Trekking. The diversity of this country makes it a worthwhile experiences.

An Introduction to Healthy Cat Foods

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:39 pm

A healthful diet is critical to your cat’s longevity and health. I believe you should understand why the best cat food diet plays such an important role in responsible kitty ownership.

It should be no surprise that the pet food industry has grown to be a billion dollar cash cow. Retail pet food sales by themselves accounted for around 3.1 billion dollars for the 52 weeks ending Jan. 27, 2007. And this figure, for some reason, excluded Wal-Mart sales. Thus it is unfortunate that some of the top-selling pet foods may be doing cats an injustice, and in some cases, may actually be harming them.

When Ann Martin’s dogs became ill back in 1990, she discovered through independent lab tests that the zinc content of the food they had been eating was twenty times higher than the recommended daily dose, and twice the level considered toxic for dogs, according to veterinarians she consulted. Ann started research to find out exactly what goes into commercial pet food. Her subsequent book, “Food Pets Die For” shook the pet food industry, and shocked and dismayed the consumers who support that industry.

Now we know far more about our pet’s feeding care and we have far more options.

Yet learning to read cat food labels can still be an intimidating task, especially with how so many of those ingredients seem bizarre.

So let’s start with some basics. If you weren’t already aware, you should know that ingredients are listed in order, by weight. I encourage you to compare an organic cat food to any of the main brands off the shelf of your mainstream grocery store. You will be stunned.

Ideally the protein source should be the first listed ingredient in a bag of dry cat food in a maintenance diet, followed by secondary protein sources, then whatever carbohydrate fillers are included, oils or fat, other ingredients, such as fruits and vegetables, a form of preservative, and added vitamins and minerals, including taurine.

When you are further along in your natural cat food knowledge, you might consider learning about a raw food diet for cats.

I hope this provides you with a better fundamental comprehension of your kitty’s food label.

DISCLAIMER: I am neither a nutritionist nor a veterinarian. This blog post exhibits my own opinions developed as a result of years of personal research of cat foods. I urge readers do their own research to form educated opinions. You should always work with a veterinarian before following advice found on the World Wide Web.

Symptoms of Dyslexia in Adults

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:41 pm

Most of the history of dyslexia has been compressed into the last 25 years. Before that the condition was practically unknown.

Dyslexics learn differently. Their eyes see the same but their brains interpret the signals from the eyes differently than those of non-dyslexics. It’s O.K., many famous people have been dyslexic. But to reach full potential they need to be taught differently, according to their needs.

In roughly the last fifteen years, dyslexia in children has routinely been screened for in elementary school. As part of their standard procedures, everyone went through preliminary screening. Those identifies as possibly dyslexic, plus all the teachers identified as having problems with reading, were put through full dyslexia tests which identified whether or not they were dyslexic, and, if so, what type and to what degree was the problem.

Before that, dyslexics were lumped in with the rest of the students and had to take their chances. Most were treated badly by the educational system, called lazy, slow learners, underachievers. They were made to feel ashamed of and embarrassed by their differences and learned to conceal them.

Millions of adult dyslexics today have never taken a dyslexia test. They still struggle with learning and reading difficulties that could be easily overcome if they were only known. A half-hour dyslexia test could make enormous improvements in their self-esteem and abilities.

One of the problems in helping dyslexics is that there are many different types of dyslexia. Dyslexia takes many different forms; all dyslexics are different. They cannot be readily sorted into categories and then treated the same as a group.

One of the most common dyslexia symptoms among adults is the reluctance to read anything, especially to read aloud. Another is reluctance or inability to take down legible, understandable messages from phone conversations. Still another is a person employed in a much lower position than would seem to be appropriate for his or her intelligence, just to avoid the necessity of reading and paperwork.

OMG Fat Loss | The Doctor is “In!”

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:56 am

So what is it that makes the new OMG Fat Loss program by Dr. Marc Lawrence different?

- is it Celebrity Doctor Dr. Marc Lawrence, who has appeared on Oprah?

- is it that he actually bases his approach on science rather than pure motivational mumbo-jumbo or dieting fads?

- is it that he is a Board Certified Physician specializing in Nutrition, rather than someone with a diet plan and a certificate from a weekend “Become a Weight Loss Trainer” Clinic?

How about ALL of them!

It is pretty clear from the beginning that OMG Fat Loss is a bit different from the average dieting program you find on the internet. There is a very interesting diagram that shows the actual energy chain that food digestion and use goes through, and why most diets fail on a purely medical level.

For many programs, it is as if they sell people a car with flat tires, and then people wonder why they can’t go very far very fast. Duh, the tires are flat! When you violate some of he basic metabolic principles shown in Dr. Marc Lawrence’s YouTube Video, it is clear why those other programs just don’t work.

And while OMG Fat Loss has helped make Dr. Marc Lawrence a celebrity, it is not his celebrity status that makes the diet unique and effective … that just helps him spread his powerful fat loss message more effectively.

Yahoo Buzz has an interesting OMG Fat Loss video link to Dr. Lawrence as well.

Bottom line: This is a REAL fat loss plan that is far more likely to succeed than most, because it doesn’t fly in the face of science. In addition, the cost is MUCH lower than that of many other approaches … you’ll pay less, one time, than you do for most other plans per month.

So choose your fat loss weapon: science and the doctor, or fads. I think I know where I’m heading ….

Multi Level Marketing Basics - The MLM Business Model

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:10 am

MLM, or Multi Level Marketing, when combined with the Internet, creates a powerful formula for creating a successful home business and achieving financial freedom.

This business model is used by hundreds of companies to move their goods and services to the end consumer.  In this article, my goal is to provide you with information on what this industry is and what it is not.

You can only make an informed educated decision as to whether or not this business concept if right for you if you have the required information upon which to make that decision.  I hope to provide some of that information in this article.

Multi Level Marketing is simply a business model for moving products and services from production to the consumer using independent distributors with a multi level commission payout plan.  Since distributors can recruit other distributors and establish teams that work together, this business model is often also called Network Marketing.

There are many myths about MLM companies, including that they are illegal pyramid schemes or scams.  For true Multi Level Marketing companies, nothing could be further from the truth.  Unfortunately, those who believe these myths, simply do not understand how MLM companies work.

The first thing that you need to know is that MLM is not illegal and it is not a pyramid scheme.  While the organizational structure resembles a pyramid in shape, this is true of almost all businesses.  There are far more workers in the lower ranks of any business then at the top, if not, the business would collapse.  Not everyone in the company can be CEO or Vice President.  If fact, Multi Level Marketing companies are one hundred percent legal and many multi-million dollar companies use this business model to market their products.

Some well known Multi Level Marketing companies include Herbalife, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Shaklee, Amway, Tupperware, Princess house (a subsidiary of Colgate Palmolive), A. L. Williams (Insurance), Melaleuca, U.S. Sprint, MCI, and NSA.  Companies such as these have been around for decades.

There are hundreds more MLM companies and just like other companies, some are good and some are not so good.  But MLM is certainly here to stay and it is an explosive growth field!  In fact, increasingly you will find more and more Fortune 500 companies employing the Network Marketing business model for some portion of their marketing portfolio!

So why are MLM companies and programs becoming so popular?  Well, the business model offers a wonderful opportunity for the “little guy” to start his own business on a part time basis with very little investment money upfront, but with a large income potential if she or he is willing to put in some work!  Contrary to what some people would want you to believe, MLM is certainly not a get rich quick scheme and requires effort to grow your business.

John Paul Getty is often quoted as having said that he would always prefer earning 1% of a hundred peoples efforts than 100% of his own efforts.  And that is precisely what Multi Level Marketing is all about.  The Multi Level Marketing sales force members are not actually employees of the company, but instead they are independent distributors who are compensated for their efforts by commission based on the amount of product moved by not only themselves, but also by those whom they recruit as distributors.

As each distributor recruits others to become distributors, they create what is known as a downline and in addition to their own retail sales commissions, they earn a wholesale commission on the amount of products their downline distributors move to consumers.  This process goes on for some designated number of levels and is where the term “multi level” originates.

The more people a distributor can recruit for his downline, the larger will be their total commissions.  The number of levels that a distributor will earn override commissions on will depend upon the company’s compensation plan but five to seven or more levels is not unusual.  These wholesale override commissions can quickly add up for distributors with a large downline.

A strong incentive is thus created not only for a distributor to recruit more distributors for their downline, but also to train them to move products as well.  Thus a successful distributor will want to duplicate their success by teaching their downline members how to be successful.  By making their downline members successful, they make themselves more successful.

Building large stable residual income is therefore the result of successfully recruiting, training, and retaining others.  The better one is at doing these things, the larger their income will become.  While it is not necessarily easy, it can be very rewarding.

Want to be your own boss?  Millions of people are earning a solid income using this business model working from home.   A telephone, basic computer, fax machine, a HUGE ambition, and the knowledge of how to proceed to grow your business are all it really takes!  Are you ready to explore the opportunities that Multi Level Marketing offers?

If so, did you know that sponsoring people into your MLM opportunity is completely irrelevant to making money in network marketing? (And no, I’m not talking about retailing your company’s products). Find out how you can get people to PAY YOU to prospect them… rather than you having to pay for your prospects. Click here to learn more at => The Renegade Network Marketer

Demolition

Introduction

Taking down old buildings and replacing them with new is a process that has been going on for thousands of years. The destruction of buildings might have occurred during battles or attacks on towns; or due to natural disturbances such as earthquakes or volcanic activity. The resultant ruins would need to be removed and rebuilt. So the idea of demolition would have come about where a population wished to re-inhabit a specific area or site. (One famous example is the Holy Temple in Jerusalem which was deliberately destroyed by the Assyrians around 586 BCE. After 50 years of occupation the Jews returned to Jerusalem and began the re-construction of the second temple which took seventy years to complete.)

However the actual word to demolish only came into being in 1570, and was used from then on to mean the deliberate taking down or destroying of a building or structure.

Preserving the past - preparing the future.

In a country like Britain with very dense populations per square mile, there is a limited amount of land available for building. The land between built up areas of the villages and towns is known as Green Belt and is protected from development to preserve the agricultural and natural heritage which is vital to the economy of the country.

The outcome of this policy is that there is a constant shortage of land for housing and industry, so the developers have to be more creative when providing structures for the population. One of the ways of doing this is to find places where the buildings are no longer commercially viable or have been abandoned, and re-use the area for different purposes. These areas are known as brownfield, or greyfield sites. In some cities, particularly Leeds and Manchester, the old warehouses or factories have been converted into apartments, retaining the original shell and reconfiguring the internal dimensions into valuable living accommodation.

Brownfield sites are disused industrial and commercial facilities where the land may be contaminated with hazardous waste or pollution. They are potentially valuable for significant redevelopment once they have been cleaned up. Greyfield sites are urban properties that have been underutilised or abandoned, but do not have the environmental issues of brownfield sites. They were termed greyfield sites because of large areas of asphalt that covered the land. These sites are valuable because they already have the infrastructure such as water, sewage, electricity and gas in place and do not need remedial work to develop the site.

When a structure is to be removed there are different ways of approaching the task. The size and construction of the building, the new use of the site and whether there are valuable elements suitable for re-use, will all determine how it is to be demolished.

Traditional Demolition

Traditionally, once all the services were disconnected, the machinery and men would go in and just knock down the walls which caused the roof to collapse and then drag all the wreckage away. Any concrete hard standing would be broken up ready for removal. The dismantling process would involve the clearing of rubbish and disposed of in landfill sites. However modern demolition practices are very controlled and are subject to strict planning, safety and monitoring regulations.

Small structures such as two or three storey houses can be dismantled quite easily with hydraulic excavators and bulldozers using an undermining process. The walls are undermined at the base, in order to topple the structure; at the same time the manner and direction of the fall is controlled. Clean-up and safety issues are also taken into account when deciding how the building will be undermined and demolished.

Larger buildings such as tower blocks and chimneys require more specialist techniques, and are outlined below.

Deconstruction

A new approach to demolishing buildings is deconstruction - a green approach. The aim is to minimise the amount of waste going to landfill sites by carefully preserving valuable materials for reuse. The work may be a painstaking task of dismantling by hand - brick by brick - or beam by beam. The reclaimed materials are then recycled or re-used for future buildings. The results of deconstruction can save in excess of 90% waste from going to a landfill site. When the farmer opposite to my house sold his farm yard with barns for housing, the builder demolished the barns, cleaned up the bricks and reused them for the perimeter wall of the farmhouse. At the time I was looking for some rubble as a base for a path and the builder let me take several barrow loads off his pile.

Recycling

Historically when old buildings were ruined from disuse or war damage the local people would gradually remove the stone and use it to build their new structures such as houses or barns. Hadrian’s wall between Carlisle and Newcastle has mostly gone because after the Romans left, the local population made off with the beautifully dressed stone the Roman craftsmen had used in the building of the wall. So even in those days people understood the value of recycling because it was much cheaper than having to quarry and dress the stone themselves.

At one time the rubble resulting from a demolished building would be taken to a landfill site for disposal. Now however concrete can be rapidly broken up with the latest machine called a guillotine and the resultant rubble can be crushed and used as sub-base material for the foundation of the new building which is to replace the old, or sent to other construction sites. These days this crushed rubble is called 6f2 crushed stone or 6f2 crushed material.

Modern machinery and techniques allows the demolition companies to efficiently segregate waste types on or off-site. Wherever possible construction materials are recycled and re-used in the new structure. Recycling of waste contributes to a significant savings in project costs and is good for the environment.

When we renovated our bungalow 20 years ago the builder, who was a bell ringer, found an old beam from a bell tower that was being renovated, and after carefully treating it, installed it in the kitchen. It gave the room some badly needed character and has never needed any further treatment.

Copper pipes, wiring, roof tiles or slates, floor tiles and doors, and wood panelling are some of the valuable artifacts that are saved for recycling and re-use. There are specialist yards in many towns where reclaimed old or antique artefacts are available for purchase.

Tall Buildings

The demolition of tall buildings requires expert techniques. In some cases a wrecking ball on a crane may be used to demolish the top part of a tall building until it is down to a manageable height. However this process is rarely used due to the uncontrollable factor of the swinging ball and the proximity of other buildings.

Other methods of demolition of tall buildings are by implosion using explosives, controlled collapse and piecemeal. Also ‘High Reach’ demolition excavators are used where explosives are not possible. Once the building is down to a more manageable height demolition continues in the usual way.

The steeplejack Fred Dibnah became famous in the late 1970’s for his work on demolishing tall chimneys without the need for explosives. He would cut an ingress at the base of the chimney, use wooden props to support the brickwork and then burn the props so that the chimney toppled hopefully in the right direction.

The tallest building to be lawfully demolished was the Singer Building of New York in 1967/8. More recently the collapse of the World Trade Centre after the 9/11 attack in 2001 illustrates the terrible devastation that could occur if the demolition is not controlled and very carefully contained.

In the demolishing of tall buildings and large structures water hoses and spray equipment is used to control the dust and would is termed a wet demolition.

Explosions

What comes to mind for many people when they think about demolition would be the dramatic collapse of a tall building using explosives. However it is usually the process of implosion, using explosives, that brings down a tall building so that it does as little damage as possible to the surrounding environment. Implosion is essential for dense urban areas and is very fast, the collapse taking only seconds, with the building falling inwards into its own footprint.

Using explosives is specialist work and is a very skilled process and getting it wrong can be devastating. If an implosion is not prepared correctly the danger may be damage to neighbouring structures or even killing onlookers from flying debris. Even more dangerous is a partial collapse of a building where the remaining structure is unstable and there are still primed explosives that failed to go off. Workers are in great danger if or when continuing the demolition.

Other hazards of working with explosives occurs when the atmospheric pressure from low cloud above the implosion site will cause the shockwave to spread outwards instead of upwards. The wave of energy and sound created will break windows and cause other damage to the surrounding buildings.

Because of the dangers of working with explosives, implosion will only be used when other methods are too costly or impractical.

Health and Safety

Demolition of any building is highly dangerous and is a much more complicated and technical process than most people would realise. Experienced and skilled operators are essential to ensure safety for both workers and public alike. The stability of any structure is reliant on the interdependence of its component parts, so an incorrect sequence of dismantling could result in an accidental collapse.

Health and safety is paramount in demolition work so personnel working in the industry have to be adequately trained. It is advisable for operatives to have gained a Certificate of Competence in Demolition to ensure they have the necessary skills and safety awareness. All demolition work is regulated by the Construction, Design and Management Regulations.

Sequence of Demolition

There has to be a sequence of actions before any demolition can take place. Each area council will have their own specific list for planning approval, but a typical order would be as follows:-

  • Provision of Information
The demolition company must provide information about the construction to be demolished, its previous use and the appropriate demolition method to be applied including disposal of hazardous substances.
  •

  • Survey of Demolition
Identification of any structural problems as well as risks associated with hazardous or flammable substances such as asbestos removal requiring thorough asbestos surveys of the site. (E.g. Where petrol has been stored, ie disused garage, precautions need to be taken to prevent a fire hazard).
  •

  • Preferred and Safe Method of Work
A reputable company involved in demolition will be able to select the appropriate method of disposal. Planning and outlining the dismantling process is necessary for assiduous monitoring. A detailed statement outlining the safety process needs to be agreed by all parties involved before any demolition can take place.
  •

  • Preparation and Planning
There is a lot of preparation to be done before starting work on demolishing the building itself. Issues such as asbestos abatement, disconnecting utilities, rodent baiting, dealing with hazardous substances and making safe any electric, gas or other services have to be resolved.
  •

  • Protection of the Public
Where demolition is carried out in heavily populated areas the protection of the public is paramount. Safety cannot be compromised. Temporary services may need to be arranged, health hazards assessed and people affected will need to be informed.
  •

    Conclusion

The word ‘demolish’ is interpreted as the deliberate and controlled collapse of a structure. Demolition work is a very dangerous business and demolishing any building is a complex and skilled process. The aim in demolition is to remove an unwanted building as safely and quickly as possible, recycle or re-use most of the old material, and clear the site ready for the subsequent use.

In the centre of Nottingham over the last few years there has been a major reconstruction of what was an old car park into a brand new shopping centre. While this was going on the public were only really aware of the boarding around the area, a change in traffic direction and maybe some big lorries going in and out of the site.

So the next time you see buildings being demolished to make way for the new, give a thought to the company involved who’s team are daily working in a dangerous environment, adhering to all of the regulations and carefully and meticulously carrying out the project to bring us the modern conveniences we have come to expect and clearing the way for the future.

The Best Way to Choose Top Converting Affiliate Programs For Your Blog

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:42 pm

Making money on blogs can be tuff if you are new. Many people have had the issue where they choose some affiliate products to promote, only to find that the traffic is there but the sales aren’t. There is nothing more frustrating! The best way to prevent this from happening in the future is to make sure you are choosing the right affiliate products from the start.

It can feel like you need to be psychic to figure this out. Luckily, there are many tools at your disposal — no special powers needed! These tools are also free, and can help you immensely when it comes to choosing profitable affiliate products.

The first thing you need to do is some market research. Search around on the Internet to find where people in your niche hang out. The chances are good that you’ll find a forum or message board, You can read through these posts to see what kind of product these people would be most interested in.

You see, some markets are better suited to digital products. Other markets are much more attuned with physical products. This is very important for you to know so you always choose the right kind of product.

You can take this a step further by spying on your competition. If there is a major blog in your niche you should go look through it. Figure out what they are promoting and how they are doing it. You can’t be sure, but the chances are good that if they are established and highly ranked they have done a lot of market research themselves. You can simply use this data to help you figure out what the best fit for your site will be. Remember, a product that is not targeted will make far less sales (if any) than one that is targeted.

After you’ve decided exactly what kind of affiliate product to promote you can start to look into the specific product or affiliate network. Many of the networks will give you some kind of data that you can use to figure out if it’s an offer that sells (look at present and historical data). It is important to remember there are many variables that go into these numbers, so use them as a guideline.

Once you think you’ve chosen a good product you should look at their sales page or website.

    The site should:

  • Have well-written copy
  •

  • Have symbols of trust (verification signs, trusted company logos, etc.)
  •

  • Include a Phone number (increases trust)
  •

  • Have few distractions (increases conversions)
  •

The site you link to can truly either make or break you! Even if you’ve done a good job of pre-selling the product (described below), the customer will ultimately make her decision based on the sales page and whether or not she things it’s a good offer.

Last but not least, you need to do a good job of pre-selling the product. That means letting your visitors know that this is a great product for them by either showcasing banners on your site, writing a review about it, etc. In order to learn how to write a good presell, you should consider learning the basics of good copywriting.

When you put all these pieces together you’ll have a much easier time making great affiliate sales on your blog!

    Wishing You Great Success,

    Eric Sullivan

    Just Think About It

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:22 am

It seems scientists are coming up with new startling conclusions every day.

    Something to think about?

How many times has someone said that to you? More than once, I’ll bet. But now it seems it’s even better advice than ever.

It seems an amazing discovery has been made by researchers at Harvard University. Psychologists studied 84 hotel cleaners, whose job involved physical activity. It seems that approximately 50% of the group lost an average of two pounds and lowered their blood pressure somewhere in the region of 10 percent, while the other half had no significant changes.

If the successful half had been put on a new diet, the world right now would have bought millions of copies of it and every talk show would be discussing how good it is. If you’re asking what caused half of the hotel cleaners to lose weight, you may be in for a bit of shock. The only difference between the two groups was that the successful group had been coached to believe that the jobs they were doing burned calories, made them healthier and helped them lose weight. Their weight loss motivation had been changed.

Yes, the weight loss group simply believed their work gave them health benefits. Those health benefits almost magically manifested with no extra effort on their part.

Head of research Ellen Langer, said ‘The changes were a function of the change in mindset alone’.

Says Ellen, If you can put the mind in a healthy place, you can have dramatic physiological consequences’. In plain English you might just be able to lose weight by thinking about it the right way. That has important implications for those of us who want to enjoy weight loss

Just imagine yourself losing weight and burning up calories during normal daily activity, you will lose weight and bodyfat. That simple. Even though it sounds too good to be true the research at Harvard seems to prove otherwise.

Just think about that for a moment!

    What Are Ghillie Suits?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:53 am

A yowie suit is a kind of camouflage that was first used by snipers. The way a ghillie camouflages the wearer is by blending them in with the scenery. A ghillie suit is intended to look like heavy foilage. Most commonly a ghillie suit is made out of a net and burlap, and some people use twigs and leaves from their natural surroundings. Paintballers might use a ghillie suit to hide themselves from their enemy, allowing them to either set up a surprise attack or engage from far distances.

Ghillie suits are produced in five different colors, which are — Woodland, Mossy, Winter White, Leafy and Desert. You should take pictures of the area you intend to you use your yowie suit, and match them up against your monitor in order to choose the best color for your area. One thing you should know is that if you have drastic change in season, you might need more than one yowie suit as the colors will be change as the seasons do. If you can’t decide which ghillie suit you need than you should go with the color woodland, as it is known as the All Season color, and matches almost all foilage. You can easily see an advantage when using a ghillie suit for the first time in a airsoft match. There are also many other uses for ghillie suits, for instance I have a buddy who uses them to take up close pictures of elephants.

If you want to save money on a yowie suit, you can buy a ghillie kit which comes with a net, synthethic jute and full color instructions to easily put it together. By purchasing a ghillie suit kit you pay almost a third of the ticket price, however you do have about 3 to 5 hours of manual labor to put your suit together before you can use it. This is how you are able to save so much money, because the manufacturer does not have to put it together for you, as all yowie suits are hand made.
